I've been in Canada since 02/02/2000. I recieved AIP on January 23, 2001
I know for sure my case was being reviewed on august 31st
How much longer do I have to wait until I hear something?
Is it advisable to give CIC a call?
thanks TJ

You didn't give enough information to even speculate how long it will take. I just
assume that you applied as a spouse from within Canada, yes? If this is the case then
there is no high priority to process your application as you got your AIP, so you can
apply for EA and you are together with your spouse. So, now things have to take time
- depending from your nationality and countries of previous residence
background/security check may take anywhere from few months to well over a year.

If you know for sure that your case was being reviewed on August 31st then you know
for sure that it has not been forgotten and is definitely getting attention. You
should not call them now. Jim Humphries, former visa officer
