Andrew Miller please throw some light on this
Hi Mr. Miller and experts,
I'm here in Canada on student visa and I met a girl (canadian Citizen)
here and we would like to marry each other. But the problem is she is
already married and when we searched through the website
http://www.canlii.org/ca/sta/d-3.4/sec8.html
we came to know that she can't get divorced since she is not living
apart ( Seprated ) from one yr. is this right even if both of them
want to legally divorce each other they have to wait for one yr ?
2 . One more question is that what is the fasted way to appear these
questions in newsgroups. I'm posting it throuh google but I guess they
takes lot of time.
Thanks in advance

1. This is the law - they must be separated for at least 12 months.
2. Try using your ISP's news server - simply open your Outlook Express (or
other newsreader) and subscribe to misc.immigration.canada. It is free and
doesn't require any registration, but you need news server info from your
ISP (look into your ISP instructions).

Off topic, it's never a good idea to marry someone who just ended her
marriage, even more when she's still married. People have to divorce and
find their way again in life before thinking about another romance. Some
will need months and some will take years.
She's probably very disappointed the way her marriage turned out and you
were there at the right moment. Ask yourself if it's true love, even when it
feels like it.
I've seen several others like you in the same situation and I can't remember
one story where people were still together after 5 years...
Just my two cents.
