After landing in toronto using PR, I am planning to make a visit to USA to settle my
stuff here. I have a H1 visa that will be valid and also I am a citizen of common
wealth country. I was planning to take Amtrak on the way back to NY. I saw that
Amtrak offers a service from toronto to NY. How does the immigration formalities work
out for Amtrak passengers across borders? Has anybody taken amtrak across border? Plz
Advice..Thanks

They get in to the train and check. In any case, that is NOT your problem. Amtrak and
US INS / CIC would deal with it. If you have all your documents and no other reason
to be denied entry, you have nothing to worry from either side.
