To all experts: What is the landing procedure if I am already in Canada
Hello
I am a PR living in Toronto. I sponsored my infant child who lives
with me and got by mail from Buffalo the visa on his passport.
Now I have to get him "Landed".
Must I drive to the states and re-enter at the border in order to get
him landed? Is there a way to do it without actually entering the USA?
Someone told me I can leave Canada, turn around and enter Canada
without actually entering the states. Is that correct? If so, Can I
use the immigration offices at Toronto airport?
Thanks!
Eytan

Yes, you have to leave Canada with the child, but it is not that hard to do.
Just go to the nearest US port of entry by car and leave Canada. Before you
get to the US Customs booth there will be a sign saying "Return to Canada"
or some such. Turn there and report to Canada Customs.

Mr. Humphries, thanks for the reply.
Can I do this trick at the Toronto airport? I landed at the
immigration there and it seems more sensible than driving to the
Niagra Falls.

Re: To all experts: What is the landing procedure if I am already in Canada
No, you can't do it at the airport as you must physically leave Canada
before re-entering - it cannot be done at the airport.
