Default Agghh ESTA error - I think!

OK I think I've made a stupid mistake
We drive from Vancouver BC to Seattle then fly from SEATAC to Maui soooo I just bought ESTAs for the whole family... Now hubby tells me ESTAs don't work if we drive across border via Bellingham! Is that true? How do we get visas & can I get an ESTA refund?

Oh dear. I thought I was being organised

Thanks for any help..!

We just got I94's at the border when we drove Toronto to Buffalo, then flew to Florida, if the flight is USA to another bit of USA, its no problem $6 each.

I dunno, but I thought ESTA was required for all furriners flying in US airspace, not just if they took off across a border. I might be wrong. I don't much care.

Not for a US internal flight.

Not even if you're a furriner? Good. I'm still not going there though.

I'll bet trying to get a refund is more hassle than it's worth....

ESTAs are valid for 2 years and at $14 each ask yourself will you be flying to the US from Canada in the next 2 years.
Let me guess you booked your tickets before you checked out the entry requirements to the USA or you were initially going to fly from Vancouver but found a cheaper deal from Seattle. Did you check the fares out of Portland Oregon?

You should check the price of the Hawaii flights from Bellingham and compare them to Seattle's prices. Most likely even less.
