Default Advice needed

We(my wife n me) will be applying for canadian immgration and needed
some advice from all you guys with any experience in the matter. My
wife will be the principal applicant so as to take advantage of her
having done a french beginners level course and also she has worked
for the last 7 yrs in one company which means lesser paper work in the
experience category. do you guys think it is right?

1) How long does it take for a Non British National( I have brrn in UK
for over 18 months on work permit) to complete the whole process from
the date of sending the application? my wife is on a dependent work
permit and has been in UK for just over a year.

2) Our education is in English language and both of us are Management
graduates do we need to take the IELTS test? my wife has taken the
Alliance Francais course (beginners level) around 2 yrs back is that
valid for points under french language (2nd language) or will she need
to take a fresh test?

3) Under the category of settlement funds, We can show joint funds of
over the requisite amount. does this require to be in My wifes name
only? or if in my name will it still be considered ? We also have a
house in our home country will it help any to show that also as an
asset over and above the requisite accessible funds?

4) Should i Post teh application to the london visa office or is it
better to hand deliver it to the visa office? does it make any
difference.

I am sure your advice and help will see me in canada in the shortest
possible time.

Check out the CICs website where all of the questions should be answered. A
beginner's course at theAlliance Francaise will not get you any points.

It sounds the better option, but but you may be better talking to one of the
more experienced regulars like Andrew with more detail of your employment
experience etc.

This is one of the most commonly asked questions an probably one of the
hardest to answer.
2 yrs plus depending on which visa post you will apply through.

Sorry but yes she will need fresh evidence of french. Also you havent given
any information about your country of origin so maybe even IELTS ?

House is no longer used to provide proof of funds, but joint accounts can be
used.

Thats your call but if you live near enough you would have the pleasure of
knowing that the package got there. Most use some form of courier or
registered post.

scores arent valid any more(over 5 yrs).
Would we still require ENglish language tests?
My wife has studied French as second language in school & college for
5 yrs and done her alliance francais course 2 yrs back(beginners
level) can she show that for pts a basic level without fresh tests

No. New IELTS test results (English and or French) are needed for both of
you.
