address to use on RCMP checks and question on common law vs spousal
I am getting ready to submit my fingerprints to RCMP for canadian
background for inland spousal applicant. Do I use the Vegreville
address when it asks for address of contributing agency?
also, in reading the application for PR they ask for commonlaw couples
to supply evidence of validity of relationship... do married couples
need to also sumbit a lot of support as well.. i.e. letters from
friends, bank acount records, communication?
thank you.

Re: address to use on RCMP checks and question on common law vs spousal
Hi,
I am about to submit my fingerprints to the RCMP as well, since I am
about to apply for PR and therefore need to obtain a criminal records
check from the RCMP (since I was living in Canada for more than six
months).
Where can I download the original fingerprint form for the criminal
records check? I was surfing all over
http://www.rcmp.ca/crimrec/finger2_e.htm#Obtain, but couldn't find a
link to download that form.
Do you know where to get that form?
Do you have any experience with obtaining police clearance from the
US? Do they have a similar form as well?
Thanks,
Helmut

Re: address to use on RCMP checks and question on common law vs spousal
That is the link I found for the RCMP- the actual fingerprint card has
all the info or spaces for it... I intend to enclose a letter with all
the information with that.
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/crimrec/finger2_e.htm#Obtain
I went to the local RCMP and had my fingerprints done there. I then
submitted one to FBI and one to each state in which I lived for more
than 6 months. I am planning on submitting the one directly to the
RCMP soon. I am about to leave for a bit but will try to find link on
FBI. I think i just wrote a letter with all the info they need and
sent it with the completed cards...
good luck!

Once again, you can go into your local RCMP detachment, and they will do it for free. You need tobook an appointment though, the police charge $25 CND for the same service. Just go in with the fingerprint letter included in the application forms.

Re: address to use on RCMP checks and question on common law vs spousal
Normally you contact your local police office first and they will tell
you
an agent who can do the fingerprint for you. The agent will have the
form.
But, if you are and will keep staying in Canada after you submit your
application, you are advised not to do RCMP checks until you are asked
to do so by CHC during the file processing. This sounds reasonable
since the RCMP check
is only valid for 6 months and the processing takes much longer.
