Accumulating more points after submitting application
A friend of mine is going to apply for the Canadian immigration. It's
taking about 2+ years in his country to process the application. He thinks
that in 2 years he'll add more points (job experience, relative points who
is immigrating to Canada, etc.). My question is, can he apply now and then
later make a request to update his score to reflect his current situation ?
Thanks

No, if he applies now and does not have sufficient points then he will be
refused.

Re: Accumulating more points after submitting application
Yes, as long as he meets regulatory requirements and pass mark at the time
of application.

No if he doesn't and yes if he does.
C'mon Ivy, even I could follow that one.

Re: Accumulating more points after submitting application
I wrote quite clearly that he may boost his case later only if he meets
regulatory requirements and pass mark at the time of application.
I assume from your disappointment that your friend doesn't have enough
points to reach current pass mark. Thus there is nothing he can add to the
case later, as there is no case if he doesn't have enough points to apply
with in the first place, sorry.

Re: Accumulating more points after submitting application
Mr Miller,
In this context I would like to ask what if a person
have relative in canada for last 30 years. But thinking he have enough
points did not avail points at the time of sumbitting.
However later ondue to change in point system he found
he is missing the passing marks .( Jan 2002 applicant ). Then he
submit all the proof of relative too( T4 , utiliy bills , bank
statement etc).
Person did get his file number etc. Will the canadian
authorties will take these 5 points in count(74+5). I am just talking
hypothically. As my mark were around 74 when I submitted( but I
calculate based on old point system since not aware of latest
changes). Thorugh now the passing marks are 67 . What if they again
change to 75 in year time.

Re: Accumulating more points after submitting application
If conclusive proof of relation and relative living in Canada is received
prior to the assessment of application then officer will take it into
consideration.
