I submitted my application to CHC Accra in June 2002, it is in process and I have sent additional docs to update the application.

Hi Accra applicants,
Yeah, I put in my application in Feb '03. Heard nothing so far. You
know, tito, they have facility where you can go to the High Commission
and fill some enquiry forms and ask any questions about your
application. I think it is is a good facility. Actually I am going
there again today. But the big problem still remains - the processing
time is tooooo long. I can't imagine that you've been waiting for more
than one and half years.
On the other hand, tito, did you send the additional docs on your on
volition or they actually asked you for it?
Well Nasara, I think you should put in the application now

I sent the additional docs because it was the reasonable thing to do. Had to add new born child to the application and also my IELTS test result. Waiting for them to ask for it could prolong the processing time or even cause problems much later.
I thought the Accra website said the average processing time is 24 months? We are at their mercy, you should exercise patience and not be unduly worried. The critical thing is to ensure you have a good application in the system (with good points too, like 75, otherwise work on boosting it up).
Let me know the outcome of your visit to the embassy.
Nasara,
Make sure you do your research well, you don't want to apply then have your application refused after 18 months. This is a good site, spend more time reading other posts and you may not have any question. We may be able to email each other at some point.

Re: ACCRA CHC - Anybody
Hi tito,
Yeah, I'm back from the CHC Accra, and from discussions and responses
from enquiries of other applicants, it seems that the main delays
result from scheduling interviews. To this end, 2 guys who applied
about 1 and half years ago have now got their interview dates - all
before the end of February, 2004. One guy who applied in Nov, 02 got
a response that his application is in the interview queue. For me
they said "In due course we will be in touch with further
instructions" . What seems to be the norm at accra is that there are
no interview waivers and most applications are "Sponsored".
I am sure you will be hearing from them pretty soon. - when that
happens keep me updated, yeah.

Hi Kwame (or anyone):
Could you please advise of the instructions to obtain police certificates from Police HQ in Accra, and what the fees are for someone residing outside of the country?
Thanks in advance.
