What kind of accomodation can one find upon arrival at Toronto (apart form hotels) and
how much would it cost? What are the 'nice' areas in Toronto to live in for a family with
a 2 year old?

Thanks in advance.

Rentals/accomodation in Toronto are going at 99% occupancy rate. It also depends on what
time of year you land. It is usually best if you find some place to stay short term - such
as hostel, hotel, etc, and then look for apartments from here.

Basement apartments - which are part of a house - rented out by the owner - are usually
easier to find for those that first come here. It is also difficult to find a rental
place w/o jobs - but many have done so! Some places ask for 6 months rent up front,
some places ask for a guarantor - someone who has a job and can co-sign the lease with
you. Other places are more open! Rent for a one-bedroom are typically $600+ (cheapest
usually basement apartments). It's hard to say what area - b/c everyone has their own
tastes and choices.

There several types of Accommodation Packages available in Toronto.

They range from Apts 1 + 2 and 3 Bedroom to Town Houses and Detached Homes.

Rents vary from 700 C$ to 1200C$

Missisagua is a preferred choice with rents slightly higher than Scarborough.

Best of luck
