Re: Registration Card
Ages since I've been in this forum! Hope I'm doing this right and don't mean to hijack this thread but need advice please on registration cards.
My registration cards for Vonyarcvashegy were stolen enroute last summer. It gives us free entry to our local beach - last summer we managed to bluff our entry as the staff recognised us. But can anyone help please about the procedure of getting these replaced? The town hall couldn't help us. Would be appreciated! Thanks! |
Re: Registration Card
I would go to where you first applied for and received your registration card. This would of been the Okmányiroda for your region.
Verys simple procedure as you should only have to prove who you are to access you held information and issue a new card on the spot. |
Re: Registration Card
What are the benefits of the registration cards ? and do the British authorities know about it ? benefits - consequences ?

And now also proof of an income or proof that someone will keep you here in Hungary. Technically then the only benefit allowed from the UK would be Pension. Does and at what point does UK know you are a permanent resident here ?. But without a registration card you are only allowed ltd stay Here...hence the card giving you indefinite leave to enter Hungary. If you are not at OAP age you will require a tax card as here in Hungary little to nothing official can be done without your 3 forms of identity. # adddress card # Identity card or registration card # Tax card. |

As far as uk is concerned I am resident in the uk and as far as Hungary is concerned I am resident here in Hungary. Win Win situation really. As far as any governing body knowing where you are at any time is pretty much impossible with the EU open borders...you could be travelling Europe for 12 months or more. |

Yup - liable for tax and NI in both countries.
Except that Hungary scans passports /IDs at the airport and the UK scan everyone in and have just started to scan people out. (Started at Dover about a month ago and due to be rolled out nation wide shortly) |
Re: Registration Card
Once one has left the uk particularly by car you could be anywhere in Europe as all EU borders are open borders travelling this way. I do as I travel with a dog.
Suppose if your going to try and steal other types of benefit you may come a cropper. The only benefit you are allowed from the UK is Maternity and Pension be it Private or OAP. Hungarian national health can only be applied for after I think a ten months residency. Uk ehic is no longer accepted unless its an emergency accident. So if you are not trying to steal benefits from the uk while here you should not have a problem, and if you at least return to uk now and then all the better. I have a son that went back packing around the world for 3 years without return to the uk...his uk address still applied. in a nut shell if your not fiddling benefit you should have no issues. |

Re: Registration Card
What 12 week ruling Digger ? I thought people in receipt of benefits were only allowed to leave the country for 13 days .... I'd be interested to know in more detail about what the 12 weeks refers to .

That's the registration card Wolfi, the Lakcim Card is the address card. We had one of them years ago but it was stolen in Germany or France - can't remember which.
Where do I go for a replacement please? I'm based near Keszthely. Thanks! |
Re: Registration Card
We live near Keszthely too and had to go to the offices of Zala Megye in Zalaegerszég. But surely you could inquire first at your local mayor's office.
PS: I remember that it took us almost half a day - first to the office, then we got a paper that I had to pay via stamps, so a visit to the post office to get these special stamps, and then back to the office ... |

Do you have an address please and what documents do you need to take with you? Do they speak English or German and do you have the times please? Thank you for your reply! |
