Yes - or wait which ever is easier (assuming time constraints are not an issue)

Is it the Hungarian State pension age or a specific age where you can waive the language part?
Many thanks for your help.

You will be exempt from the citizenship exams after the age of 60.
However when I got my citizenship (well over 60 !!) the forms had to be filled out in your own handwriting (you have to understand the forms) and at the interview which took place at the okmányiroda (as I recall you can choose which one) you have to write a CV of no more than 1 page on site and there is an interview in Hungarian. My interviewer was fairly lenient where needed.
My biggest problem is my handwriting is worse than a doctors because for the last 30 years or so the only thing I have written has been a shopping list and I can't read that after 3 days - everything is and has been on a keyboard !

I've been resident for eight years now so as I understand it, am now eligible for citizenship and from what I can gather, no full language test required but still have to write out c.v in Hungarian and also have basic conversation in Hungarian with the immigration official. I'm not sure if that requirement is still applicable when I reach UK state pension age next year though ! I have read that there are exceptions for some people who are "challenged" although quite what being "challenged" actually covers, other than children, I'm uncertain ... although I'm certainly finding learning the language challenging !

I am definitely challenged when it comes to the language (apart from the niceties)!
Maybe they'll take pity on me, I'm old enough!

Sorry - it is. I wrote mine in English got it translated and then learnt the writing. I was surprised at how little I needed to fill a page with handwriting especially when paragraphs are separated by a line. I was told that there is more interest in what you have done since being in Hungary than the preceding umpteen years.

My understanding is that the concessions are for recognised disabilities e.g. deafness that requires sign (signing interpreter can/will be used) etc.

We have found that our okmányiroda is quite helpful and if you went in there and ask to speak to the person who does the citizenship interviews and (in Hungarian) ask them to have a short chat to see if they think that your Hungarian is good enough you might get a clue about any further learning.

When I got mine we all went to the mayors office for the ceremony having told my grandson 'granddaddy is getting his citizenship today' - Comment from my grandson after the event - 'Granddaddy where is your ship'
So he sailed away in the good ship......... I guess different things are important to different people. Love it tho.
