Could not find any info on the boards.
Can it be done from abroad or by appointment

You need to go to the office that issued it as there are forms to sign. I was advised to post back my address and registration cards but they did nothing with them until I went to the office. In my case it was the documents office in Nagykanizsa but it will be the one you used when you applied for residency.
