I am still here and still got no plans to return to Old Blighty!
I see a massive difference for my wife returning to her home country. She seems alot happier living here. She does have alot of UK friends but alot of them are cliquey, i.e. old school friends and alot of them were clà ssmates. Suffice to say my wife has reconnected with her own old school friends and classmates.
The past two years our friends network has grown, partly through those who have done jobs on our house. The family of two of the workers have invited us to theirs for goulash and we have returned the favour. They have this fantastic outdoor kitchen. As well, we re-acquainted ourselves with friends I met nine years ago. We meet up monthly for lunch in Miskolc. The best thing I like about the "monthly lunch" friends is we have alot in common with them and share the costs for lunch or take it in turns. Friends we've known longer, as far back as 2003 when I first visited Hungary, that network is struggling to get back to the way they all were due to personality clashes between themselves. We maintain contact with all of them but it's not easy to arrange get-togethers! Most of the friends have been very understanding we have been very busy with multiple home improvement projects since mid-February but one couple just don't know when they need to not make us feel "guilty" we don't have as much time for them, on top we have new friends too. My wife has a sister living in our village and we've hardly seen her family as much as we'd like.
Year 5 - I setting myself a target to do more of what I like to do.
