Hello,
Does anyone know what the current rules are for the rabies vaccination for dogs in Hungary? I understand it is required annually (which seems excessive to me) but wasn't sure if this was a requirement or a recommendation.

I was of the understanding that the vaccines here were the 1 year version, so annually would be about right and I'm fairly sure they are required but they won't kick your door down if you miss it.
In my old town they do this every year in April but in other areas it's October.

The Rabies vaccination of dogs is required by law - Decree No 164/2008 12th December 2022. Failure to do so can result in a hefty fine. It's normally a yearly vaccination which is required to
obtain a Pet Passport in order to take your dog to other EU countries.

Hungary along with it's neighbouring countries undertake mass vaccination of wildlife. funded by the EU Unfortunately due to the Covid epidemic and war in Ukraine the incidents of Rabies near to the North Eastern Hungarian borders has increased.
