Digging near boundary of property
A neighbour at rear of our property is digging something near our boundary fence. Between fence and the hole is about 0.5 metres. I've no idea what they are doing biut seems to go along part of our boundary and next door plus one of their neighbours. Looks about atleast a metre deep so far.
Are there any rules about how close anyone can dig a pit or whatever they are doing to a boundary?

Have you asked them what the hole is for?

It sounds like either a water or soil pipe (but these only need to be 70cm deep) or foundations for something. There are no regulations about digging holes on your own land, but what happens afterwards could be regulated e.g. an building or other construction.

Not asked them because my Hungarian is crap plus it's a tight squeeze between the fence and our hedge so can't get near enough to ask!!!
