I need to get plasterboard but only need width of 30cm, hence, why I'm asking about DIY stores with a cutting section.

If it's anything like the US stores that sell large quantities of plasterboard, take a look near the stack of plasterboard and you will probably find a damaged piece, perhaps from the top of a new stack, that is heading for the waste skip. They should be willing to sell it for a sharp discount, as damaged plasterboard is virtually unsaleable.

Nick, You may want to stop and check out construction sites in your area when the builders are working on site if there are any projects near you, sometimes they have scrap items that they will give away or sell for almost nothing at the end of a project. Just a thought.

My local OBI has a cutting service.
There are always large amount of off cuts marked for sale, usually shorter lengths of worktops etc.
