If someone told me I could not take my tools to Hungary I would be like a baby throwing it's toys out of a pram! I bought most of them probably three decades ago and they are still as good as new. These days whenever I need to buy a new tool I'm wary about the quality.

We spent the first 5 years in Hungary moving house every 6 months. In summer we lived in our weekend house and rented our other house out as a guesthouse, then in winter we would pack up and move into the guesthouse as access to our weekend house is not guaranteed when the snow falls.
After 5 years it drove us absolutely mad so we bought another house that we live in all year round and sold the guesthouse. We've gone from 3 houses, a small classroom and a pub down to 2 houses so we've run out of places to put all the furniture and stuff we've collected.

My wife's family used to have a summer house with self composting toilet! I wish they still had it because I'd have liked to try it out!

Nasty little spike in cases, gone from 20-30 odd cases per day to 73 on Tuesday & 91 yesterday. Hope this is a blip, not a trend.

I doubt it if what I saw ytesterday is anything to go by!

I had to renew my driving license which I can do in my local town. No one at the doctor when I went to get my medical certificate, but large groups of people gathered outside the creche next door and not a mask in sight!

In the hivatal there must have been around 50 people mainly family groups collecting benefits and none wearing masks or social distancing. In total there were only 4 of us wearing masks of which I was one. Fortunately the section I had to go to wasn't crowded and I was able to keep well away from everyone and I wasn't in the very long thank heavens!

I was talking to a friend on Monday who was telling me a good friend of his contracted the virus about 2 months ago, He was admitted to hospital 6 weeks ago then medevaced to Budapest where 4 weeks ago he was put into an induced coma and intubated due to his only having 10% lung capacity. They have no idea whether he will survive and even if he does what his quality of life will be afterwards.

I do wish people would take this virus seriously. It's too late to be sorry after you've caught the virus and are lying in hospital struggling for breath!

And on a side note ..... I've moved houses 40 times and been resident in 3 different countries - 4 if you count the UK.

My understanding of the latest up-tick is that most of the cases are traced to imported infections.

Three, two local and one from Budapest, couple friends of ours are staying somewhere around Balaton with three other couples from Budapest. This has me worried when the local couples return tomorrow. Even my Hungarian wife is worried too. I think there is some leeway for group gatherings but only up to a certain number and they still need to practice social distancing!

I was in Miskolc city centre the other day and most people didn't bother to wear face masks unless they entered any shops. At the local off licence and tobacconists most customers seemed to ignore them but I ensure I've got mine on.

I believe new cross border restrictions are coming into play on Tuesday.

Not necessarily! If the the match is taking place in an open air arena and there are only 20,000 people in a space made to accommodate 67,000, providing everyone is wearing masks and maintaining a 1.5 m social distance the chances of catching the virus will be minimum.

You're at greater risk if you're in a relatively small enclosed space, like a bus where people are sitting close together and touching and contaminating the area getting on and off!

Except that the majority of people I see wearing masks seem to use them as chin straps !!
I can imagine how many mask will still be in the proper place by half time.

It's the getting to, into, out & from the stadium that will cause much of the problem.
