I'm guessing that if you'd passed at 7am you would have encountered a similar situation, probably even the same guys.

Yeah, I remember my shock when I came to Hévíz the first morning and saw that bar in the cellar of a hotel besides that famous locomotive - just across from OTP.
It had a sign "open from 7". We once went there in the afternoon, it was full of railway stuff ...

Yes, stuff!
Like many other hotels in Hévíz this hotel had been a "workers place", in this case for railway workers, so the bar in the cellar was filled with railway souvenirs and pictures - quite nice for a glass of wine or a beer or two.
The only problem now is the "zero tolerance" policy so we don't usually go out any more - maybe the reduced contact with others will also reduce the danger of getting infected with the virus.
Even more OT:
In my German hometown a lab company connected to the university is already working on some treatment for the latest Corona virus:

When we first moved into our village the 2 local bars opened at 6, to catch the workers before they caught the bus.
We later took over one of the bars but didn't open until lunchtime as the drinking culture has now changed and fewer people drink in the local pub(s).

Quarantined patients are in "good health"

The police and the National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) are checking travelers entering Hungary for coronavirus at six major border crossings across the country.

On the other hand someone went onto social media with the fake news that Hungary had the coronavirus and that several hundred people had already been infected and it was spreading.
The police traced them down and they are being prosecuted. I'm not sure of the exact law but it is on the lines of actions likely to result in public panic. Anyway the authorities are taking a very dim view of the prank. Apparently it was done to get more clicks/likes/shares or whatever social media does.
(Hungary has no confirmed cases yet)

Are there any checks on people arriving at the airport is the border? Curious to know the situation because in a few months time, subject to our house being sold and completion of contract, we will be going through the border or arriving at the airport.

Had to check because there's a possibility I may be travelling in a small removal service van with our dog when we move over. Looks like it will be a one stop trip staying in Nuremberg overnight. Atleast we will be avoiding Italy!

2 cases now confirmed in Hungary.
From my understanding, 2 Iranian students have returned from visiting Iran and have tested positive. One is studying in Győr, the other in Budapest but they are both being treated in BP.

As I understand it the 2 Hungarians are the wife and girl friend of the 2 Iranians and they are the 2 infected Hungarians not the 2 Iranian students (who went voluntarily for testing as one of them felt ill, both having just returned from family visits to Iran) .

There were also 3 suspected cases in the hospital but I found out today from one of the pharmacists that they all tested negative.
