Contracts in English for buying/renting
Question for those who have already bought or rented property in Hungary:
When the lawyer draws up the property contract in Hungarian, does he also provide an English translation for foreigners, or is this something which must be requested ? Not a good thing to sign a document you don't understand !
Be interested to hear anything about the legal procedures, and things to watch out for.

our estate agent arranged for a translater but we had to pay.
it cost us £10 for her in the office doing the translation. then that evening she typed everything out in english and we went in the next day to read the papers and sign. but renting might be different.

We purchased through GLM (Agents) and they had an English speaking Lawyer. Our contracts were both in English and Hungarian and went through without a hitch although the whole process was quite long.
So in short get an English speaking lawyer, there is one on "Balatonbrits" website.
