Why is the Thai Baht so strong ??
The Thai Baht seems to be strengthening against GBP, AUD, SGD and maybe some others. Everyone knows what's going on in Thailand at the moment, so WHY is the currency so strong?

Beats me. It's even worse since you posted this. It defies logic. I read the other thread about pound weakness and saw that you are largely interest dependent - that must hurt. I have UK based pensions so it is the exchange that hurts me.

it went up 50% (relative to AUD) from July to October !! This is truly unheard of!
Up more than 30% relative to NZD, for the same period of time!!

Can anyone find exchange history for the last 2-5 years for this pair? It would be soooo interesting to check that! Please let me know if anyone can get the data...

Yahoos interactive charts are good for this and go up to 5 years or more. For AUD and NZD try:
http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=A...urce=undefined
and
http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=N...urce=undefined
If these do not work you can go to Yahoo Finance and draw your own charts. You need to be brave to view these there is not a lot of good news for AUD, NZD or my GBP.

How about Thaksin, PPP?
I think not. I think that it isn't that Thailand rose, but the western countries fell.
It is amazing that they do not practice quantative easing the way United States does.
