No offence but come on old pal let's actually speak the truth here.
I have been treated worse than something nasty on the bottom of a shoe by some officials in Goa.:(:(:(

Remy is treated exactly the same as us in Goa, I know from being a personal friend of his. Last Season his partner only got a three month visa.

Hi all

Something has been bothering me for a while. I have only been an active member of this forum for one month, but already I have gleaned that the majority of people return to the UK for the UK summer months / Goa Monsoon!

If you travel so frequently between the two countries, and still have properties and responsibilities in the UK, are you really ex-pats?

I, for example, am leaving the UK in August this year, going to Goa, and not returning! I'm transferring my whole life (kids schooling, property ownership, TV watching) to Goa wholesale!

We are commissioning a 40ft sea container and shipping all our worldly posessions to Goa! All trace of our life in the UK will be forgotten when the ship leaves the dock.

I class myself as a genuine ex-pat (someone who will be spending my whole time in my adopted country and NOT returning 'home', even when times are tough!)

So! Are you all genuine ex-pats? Do you spend all year in Goa?

I will be spending ALL year in Goa from now on, and want to know if you will do likewise?

Julia

Two very disillusioned NOT expats (by the true definition) but who would have given the earth to be so, signing out. Have considered several of the mail threads over the weekend and decided we will not even be peepers.
Good luck to you all.

Agree with you J5, perhaps Daff and GC will sleep on their decisions.
Hope all their problems are sorted and they can enjoy Goa.

Mmmmmm
My take is that you do more good being here, than not being here. I'm not sure what has upset you, but it would be a shame should you decide to leave

Hi GC,
I fully understand and the treatment of FNs in Goa by officials regarding property purchase is totally disgraceful. I have and always will be a staunch supporter of Resident FNs right to buy in compliance with FEMA.
The whole visa denial thing is nothing more than a nasty gameplan to extract monies and obstruct Residency and indeed compliance of FEMA.
I am only to aware of the heartache, suffering, stress and frustration that this has caused many on this site.

The thing is my post was answering to the 'are you really expats at all?' thread and specifically dealing with the comment about PIOs. I apologise unreservedly if i have somehow annoyed you or anyone else and i believe that it would be a big loss and a sad day to see you or others depart from the site because you feel that your not being heard or that there is a clicky element to the site. I dont think for one moment that you or anyone else was having a pop at me and truthfully i'm too thick skinned to care even if you where so don't go because we need solidarity to fight for our rights wether it be in Goa or here in Britain.

Love and Peace,
Remy

We said Remy  SOLIDARITY is whats needed not DIVISION, we are all in this together, I don't find this site clicky at all, one is naturally going to develop friendships from postings because of the very NATURE of the situation and I can't see anything wrong with that :banghead:

Its very sad and a great loss if Daff and GC56 decide to quit after all this time but it is their personal choice.

Can we get now get back to the REAL issues now not minor issues ?

in forum land you don't have to de reg, you don't need to tell everyone you are leaving, unsubsribe from the the threads you are in and then just don't open any links.

unless you are peeping and waiting for everyone to say "please don't go"

now let's all chillllllllllllll:thumbsup:

Glad you asked a_f_d - becuase I wondered that too! "Baga Boy" upset Goacrazy a week or so back but I thought that was all forgotten, now apparently the forum is too 'cliquey' - I thought this forum was anything but that - shows what I know. . . . . . . . . . . . .

I haven't seen anyone upset Daff in 'public' - Daff gives the impression in his/her parting shot that he/she has been reading a few threads that he/she doesn't like the look/sound of - if a person don't like the 'look' of a thread they are reading, stop reading & don't look again - a bit like TV really, if you don't like what's on, change channel OR turn it off. . . . . . . . . .

Shame though as there's no positive in declining numbers of active members.

Regards

The answer to the above point is directly proportional to the response the point receives. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Andy we both must be having senior moments. Hope they will change their minds.:fingerscrossed:
I don't think it is being clickey to have met people from the forum. I made four new BE friends last season when one offered to come and sort my computer when I had said in a thread I was having problems - now that is what BE should be about. Helping each other and making new friends.
