Stop Throwing Mud at Goa-please...!
Its been a bit since i wrote anything here on this forum because the last time i did i got carried away. I have apologised though. But now i see its happening again over the death of the Australian in the City Bar in Calingute. No one knows what happened and the various reports have all been contradictory and confused. The guy was in his 60s,there was some argy bargy with the staff and he died 6 hours later after collapsing in his guest house in Candolim from intestinal causes. Now its being linked to the Keeting death as if there is some huge conspiracy amongst the Goan population against westerners. The two cases are entirely different. In fact the Keeting Case is coming apart at the seems as i write this. The CBI have lifted their objections to bail because at the end of a 6 month investigation there is no case that would stand up in an Indian Court.Michael Mannion from his own statement has admitted he was drinking all night and probably smoking and snorting too. If this was in the UK, it would never have gone beyond the magistrates court before being thrown out. There are no forensics to prove murder or rape. For those who say there must have been some backhanders to the police.Forget it because the CBI were in charge and you cannot bribe them-no way, because they come down from Delhi, not Ponda.... It seems at times that its become fashionable to bash Goa over the garbage problem, over charging in the shops and taxis. A corrupt police force.
I read on one thread this morning a complaint about missing sign boards for shacks and cafes along the roads.Goa is developing as best as it can at its own speed. My friends in Panjiim, 100% Goan, also complain about the garbage, the pollution and the corruption amongst politicians and the police. They also know who the guilty parties are too who are destroying Goa by over development.Investors from out of state. Goa is rapidly becoming a suburb of Mumbai. It only takes 7 hours now to drive to Mumbai. As for corruption in the police.Has anybody read todays Guardian. In the Menzies killing by the police at Stockwell, the police have admitted altering and deleting parts of their collective statements to the court to make the commanding officer look blameless. Also there is an article on Tony Blair lying to Parliament about cigarette advertising on Formula 1 being excempt. Ecclestone gave a million quid to the Labour Party an hour before. Now thats corruption, if proven, on a grand scale.Makes paying 500 rupees to a policeman for not having a licence a non starter.Goa is not perfect, but then again, it never advertised it was. Stop complaining and speculating because in the end it just displays to everyone that you have nothing better to do with your lives.Goa is full of beauty, go out and find it and then tell other people on this forum where it is.Accentuate the positive and stop being negative about the place. |
Re: Stop Throwing Mud at Goa-please...!
I for one have never received an apology from you for the obscene language
that was written in a PM. The posts that are written are by most people that happen to love Goa and either live here or spend most of their time here, sorry cant see how we can be racist!!! IT is the Goan Government that are ruining the place by spending the money made by the tourism industry on the wrong things or it is going in their own pockets, the garbage, it is well time that a proper garbage disposal system should be in place, Goa grows the garbage grows with it, more people coming more police needed, this is the age of forensic science to solve crimes of which happen to their own people and go unsolved as well as fn'S. The Goans need to move forward with the times if they want a successful and happy tourist place. Many of the comments made are just opinions, like the sign posts it wasnt a criticism just abit of info thats all. True saying If you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen, well most of us stay here in it and enjoy life, suggest if get of your soapbox and stop preaching to the converted.... |

We accept what has been done wrong in UK, and in most cases it is dealt with correctly. Full scale bribery is not the norm, admittedly some get away with it. Why do you Goans vote for the politicians that are 100% corrupt and by your own admission 'goons'. Goa is beautiful, we love it, and MOST of the people, but each year (after 20 years visiting) are getting more and more weary of who we trust. Our case is packed with more that 70% for Goan people. We have put our life savings into Goa, our children and grandchildrens future and look as if we are going to loose the lot. Your disgusting pm to a Lady was disgraceful and the sort of underhanded way in which we are now sadly expecting to be treated in Goa. The place where once we gave respect and received respect Our police do not stop people on the road demanding money, neither on the beaches. Our guests can sit on the beach and be left in peace, not leered at and harrassed. So please treat all the people on this forum with the respect they deserve. |
Re: Stop Throwing Mud at Goa-please...!
Prestonjohn was banned as I reported the incident to the moderator immediately I received it and I have informed her/him of yet another unnecessary pm.

All I can say is Millwall read http://www.goanvoice.org.uk. to-day. Eddie has spoken to Airies Rodrigues in Hospital to-day. All from Indian Newspapers. Goan activist accuses Minister of planning attack on him. Ministers son charged with rape - video and text. Australian tourist / Calengute. Scarlett case Fiona attempts to .......... Now 'Brits Dregs' How are we expected to feel welcome is speaking the truth throwing mud. I just wish these things did not happen, and we could have the back the Goa we all knew and loved. |

I hope you don't beleive in the media. Do you? Read the above blog. I am not sure if you know AR who was attacked in panjim. This is all a political drama which has no value and is based on a strategy which will be unfolded very soon. |
Re: Stop Throwing Mud at Goa-please...!

Like twice when the taxi did not turn up - for an important appointment - It was our fault - even when I showed him the text we had sent him and his confirmation - and No we don't use him now. |

I also read to-day that plastic was going to be recycled! Something should be done about the stinking Mapusa Market, the drain at the side entrance if the most disgusting thing we have ever seen. What do the council spend their money on? Do they not have the knowledge. |

Perhaps you would like to visit the victims in hospital and explain to them that this all a political drama and the loss of two fingers plus major injuries is part of a strategy, its only a few miles from here.................. Oh sorry, forgot you are sitting safe and comfortable in England not in Siolim, Goa with bars on your windows and locks on the doors even though you are in, wondering about how safe it is to go to Mapusa shopping tomorrow. This place is very very rapidly becoming lawless for every-one and this latest episode is terrifying. Aires Rodrigues is one of the very few Goans prepared to stand and fight against the massive and overwhelming corruption here. He took on the slimy little thug known as Monseratte with completely legal methods - the response was predictable. Why should a man who saw fit to lead a mob to attack the capital's police station (and will clearly get away with it) have any fears about sending a masked and armed gang to a restaurant to attack a senior lawyer.Everyone in Goa knows he is behind it and we all know he will get away with it. Re: Stop Throwing Mud at Goa-please...!
I urge anyone with any form of humanity to read the articles AND VIDEOS on the horrific attacks of Aires & Prajal :curse:
In answer to Prestonjohn and others, Goa is actually collecting its own mud ( or worse) and throwing it very much at itself  P.S Yes Mud sticks:thumbdown:... who is going to clean it up ? |
