There wont be any semblance of normality with airline schedules until at least the weekend next. The priority is to return stranded passengers to their destinations.BA in its wisdom have turned off all their phones, so dont bother calling all you get is a pre-recorded message telling you try their web site, which crashed in Thursday night. They are trying the old trick of if you cannot get through you might re-book instead of asking for a complete refund which you are entitled to under EU rules. The management of BA are complete idiots. The Met outlook is makes grim reading in that their predictions are that the cloud is getting thicker due to North Westerly winds picking up more volcanic dust from recent eruptions over the weekend.Fighting broke at Delhi's airport amongst passengers waiting for flights. Thousands stranded there. don't have any information regarding Mumbai.Passengers are stranded in Doha, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait City. Singapore and Hong Kong. Frankfurt much to the German credit placed camp beds with blankets and gave out hot drinks and sandwiches to stranded passengers. At Heathrow and Gatwick they did nothing and local hotels instead of charging the usual £50, put up their prices to £200 per night.BAA just washed their hands of the situation like BA did.So which sceduled airline do i like. Well certainly not BA who i have christened British Ars*holes at their best.

Southall Travel would not confirm that the flights were cancelled but the Kingfisher web site confirms that all to day & tomorrows flights are cancelled.
So at 6.00 tomorrow morning I'm off to Loch Lomand, at least I won;t have to worry about prickly heat.

Which scheduled airline do I prefer? The one that can get me to my destination in one piece, and has the authority and audacity to ignore this EUSSR blanket ban on air travel and fly UNDER the volcanic ash cloud! Oh.... sorry..... I hear no-one?!
Their time will come to pass. That's all I can say!

Think looking at hotels in Scotland is a good idea. Kingfisher 12.25pm flight to london cancelled and a 3 day backlog of Indians wanting to get home! It is exceedingly hot here at present. Even the locals are complaining. I`ve done a full year here and never experienced the heat and humidity so bad. 3 changes of clothing between 8am and 7pm cos totally sopping wet. MInd you i had been gardening and painting!!Never suffered prckly heat before but I am now! Many restaurants now closed and very few foreigners about. Nice quiet roads! Tonight is the 2nd to last Saturday night Bazaar. Personally i`d opt for Scotland at present!Enjoy yourselves wherever you go!I think i`d avoid the Haggis!!

I'm getting to the stage where I'm looking at traveling on freight ships, as an alternative viable option, to flying to India. I know you said no, my darling husband, that there would be pirates and other undesirables along the way, you would prefer that I wait for a flight, but how long is this flight ban going to be? If I knew the EUSSR they would delay flights for as long as possible.
Speak to you tomorrow. Love Julia xxx

Sorry but Aloe Vera (and i've extracted aloe vera directly from the plant itself in India) does not compensate for the lack of flights from UK to India!
