Latest just in !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just received this from Peter Beckingham- I asked him for contacts in London so we can have a meeting there as well
Thank you for your email. I am sorry for the short delay in replying.
I will let you know as soon as we have a date for a meeting. A number of those interested asked if we could postpone it, as they have not yet returned to Goa for the UK winter, and a meeting I hoped to have with Ministers in Goa has been postponed. We aim to hold the meeting in December, when we also hope there may be a few developments to report: the High Commission in Delhi has been pursuing a number of avenues - although at this stage I certainly do not wish to raise people's expectations. So, although staff in London are of course aware of the problems, the lead is in Delhi.
In the meantime can I assure you that I and colleagues in Delhi are well aware of the difficulties for many of you, and are indeed trying to take various steps to move things forward.
Best wishes - Peter"

Off Topic from property contacts, but seems to be a regular hot topic on other threads.
To complain in writing about retailers changing or obscuring MRP on packaging of goods, overcharging on the stated MRP, giving sweets as 'change', cheating on weights, and general violations of consumer rights :

Last time I challenged Udi Lawande about his minimum 25% overcharge on MRP of many items, even basics like drinking water, he told me 'that is our price, go somewhere else if you don't like it, go to the market'.
Not the response I had been expecting since I had been a customer from early days of the small shop when he was the only money changer in the area - and he cheated on the exchange rate then!.
Don't know if he cheats on the price of chaddis.

hi everyone just to let you know it seems the witch hunt is on again with the DOE with regards to property ownwership.
We were first called up like everyone else in 2007 and eventually the British High Commision got involved too. I dont know if any of you remember But simon stated back in feb 2011 that "if you had not recieved a notice than you would probably not get one and that if you had and a year had passed than the filed was probably closed"
Well four years after the last letter we have been summoned to DOE in Mumbia!!! We were one of the first so it looks like its all starting up again? Has anyone else recieved any letters and does anyone know what the time lapse period is??

Have you written to the BHC to tell them of this latest development?

I thought the BHC said if you haven't heard in two years then to presume your DoE file is closed and the investigation over.
This is extremely disturbing news !!
Please contact the BHC with immediate effect and let them know of this, because my understanding is that this is what was expressly told to them by officials at Delhi.....which suggests that yet again the Indian authorities have gone back on their word (which is nothing new of course but still unacceptable !)
Do you have a decent lawyer?....if not please pm me
Dread - x
