Hi Sweetie Pie,
What part of the message do they not understand, next year they will find that the tourists are missing because of their Visa policy :curse::curse::curse: so many of the goan people will suffer. There are many places in the world to go and enjoy without the hassle and obstacles they put in the way of our every day life out there. Noni  Noni the visa problem just isnt exclusive to Goa it effects the whole of India. The local Goans only make up a very minute proportion of Indias 1 Billion strong population......to the Indian government a 'flash in the pan'. Remember its not Goa...you have to think of the bigger picture and think back to what Douglas said about visas, exclusions etc. Goa will always get tourists and is even now among the 5 most popular worldwide destinations, it just wont get as many 'long term ' tourists and this is indeed what the want. A high turnover of short staying foreigners appears to be the order of the day. Remy |

What if they start giving 30 days free on entry like a lot of countries. This serves their objective of bringing short stay holidaymakers and excludes the long termers.
The only thing is, when it comes to Tourists, they seem to want to hold the info on them......whos coming in and out and when! The visa system seems to allow them to control us better as we are on their system even before we board the plane. I noticed this year though that they are scanning everyones passport through immigration/passport control ......never seen them doing that before (just usually scribbling down details) so it looks like our indian big brother is getting all 'modern' and will soon have eveyone tracked like they do here in the uk. Its not a free world anymore.........and sometimes i think the democratic society is slipping away from us both in India and the UK. Regards, Remy |
