Have 5 barrels of real scrumpy brewing and will be ready in roughly 2 months! Had to make my own apple press with plywood and vices, and getting hold of wine yeast was a bugger, but (hopefully!) the end product will turn out OK! Can't be worse than the local offering in any case!

I'll be in the same place in Candolim
Took me the best part of a day to dice and then squeeze the juice from 300+ apples (which I ordered specifically cider apples from an orchard in N. India). Hopefully my efforts will be worth it. The raw apple juice was divine, the cider SHOULD also be! Watch this space. If it tastes good then I might bottle it!

Decanted the cider today! (first decantation) That is poored off the top (good stuff) into different barrels, and threw away the residue at the bottom. Had a sneaky taste and
yes still divine! But still not fully English cider though, that will have to wait for another 1.5 months but getting there! Cider is cloudy currently, and I quite like it that way, but investigating ways to make SOME of it clear. I will then do a blind taste amongst friends (watch this space) to come and taste & test to determine which is better - cloudy or clear! So far the cider is flat which is what I intended, but also hoping to make some of it sparkling

Will it be 'slimming cider'?
Bearing in mind the title of this thread - couldn't resist!!
You could have a little niche business there if it turns out ok.
