We`ve had a dry sunny afternoon .

Rainfall has gone over the 2 metre mark.

The rupees over 72 to the pound.

Sadly carrots are still 80rs a kilo!

The skinny cows are happily grazing on lush green grass.

And the beer is still cheap!!!

I love Goa,
The friends I have made, The food, the sunshine, the beach, the warm evenings, arriving at Dabolim and smelling the spice in the air. Watching the sun going down while I drink a G&T on the beach with the tide coming in.

I agree entirely, and I am sure most other Expats on the Goa forums do likewise. And let's not forget our expat friends in other parts of India. BUT with the current visa situation.....especially for those who have made Goa/India a more permanent part of our lives...........the 25 year love affair I have had with Goa/India is now very bittersweet. Perhaps Gin & Bitters would be a more apt drink (if I were a drinker!!) - I'll just add more salt to my nimbu pani:rofl::rofl:

For me being in Goa means escaping the grotty UK winter weather and being in warm sunshine at a time of year I used to dread, and I have to admit I love the sunsets which are almost guaranteed on a daily basis. Sunsets on Kola beach are to just die for, but then again they're pretty good to watch at Baga and Vagator too !!

Oh and I almost forgot - the cheese dosas at Navtara in Mapusa .................... mmmm

Dread - keepin' warm

Like Dread, Goa for me is the warmth and missing the UK winter. Meeting up with my old friends, both Goan and British and really enjoying myself.
Not worrying if the carrots etc are 1 rup more than the locals pay, life is for living not moaning about a few rups here or there.

p.s. Catching up with my BE Friends old and new .

I love that moment when you get off the plane on arrival and you are hit by that wonderful sauna type heat, especially when you know that a few hours earlier you were in freezing London. Last season it was minus 5 degrees in London when we left so there was no better feeling in the world for me.

Noni - get the kettle on and the sun lounger ready.....

Dread - warm and fuzzy

At last I have something positive to post.

I`ve found a vet who actually cares about animals......NOT MONEY.I hope the moderators don`t treat this as advertising. I have only the welfare of my dogs, and other expats animals, in mind.

He is Dr. Naik,of Saligao, tele.2278020. mob. 9765632114.

He was prompt on his visit, yesterday, and today. House calls are no prob. His charges were very reasonable.

Davie.
