Tragedy on this front ,MFI look like going bust, the end of an era.
No good looking for them in Bombay then !
We had to be satisfied with a kitchen unit from the Living Room for Rs. 25000
a few years ago,it's OK though, for our small kitchen.

Hi Camelo
It is wrong to generalise. Who are they??

I have also had a lovely kitchen handmade by a carpenter from Candolim who cared, didnt speculate, and had common sense. There are some good honest crafstsmen out there. You just have to do your homework.

A bit of good news for MFI employees - there's been a management buyout thereby safeguarding 2,000+ jobs - according to BBC business news at about 5:20am this morning!

kitchen units ... approx £2000 for supply and installation.
No wonder the locals resent us - they could get a basic 1 1/2 room house built for around Rs. 2 lakh , with electricity, drainage and water -- which is better than a lot of people have now!

Isn't it something to do with the Government, a sort of secret service arm ?
