Re: Herald letter
Another letter with a increasingly familiar theme in yesterday's (18th. Feb) Herald ,entitled 'Goodbye Goa' by David Jenkins of the UK.
He and his wife have been regular visitors for the past 10 years.
The last straw for him was on Wednesday 6th. February at East meets West (date +location not given in his letter, but I was also present) when 2 of Goa's 'finest' Policemen rode cavallierly right into the heart of the open air venue and cut the music off at 950 p.m. thus spoiling everyones enjoyment. They were slow handclapped by the crowd ,but to no avail.
He cites several other failings like garbage, visa system, power cuts, traffic accidents etc. all of which have led him to his reluctant decision. He says lots of other regular holidaymakers he has spoken to are of the same
mind and next year he for one ,(two with his wife) ,will be laid on a clean beach in thailand.
Very sad particularly as the powers that be are aware of these situations ,but don't appear to care.

A Very good letter, like the others recently in the Herald. These are not isolated cases, this is what people are saying in the shacks and resturants The traders are worried this year! waiting until next year. People will vote with their feet and go elsewhere.
