Think most of you are aware if you have read the threads on Goa Property Beware and todays newspapers, my friends were issued with a "show cause notice" a few days ago, they have now been interviewed here in Goa by SAHARA TV and the interview is to be screened tonight between 6-7pm
They have done this interview in the hope of bringing everyones plight re the property situation to the fore front in Goa.
Their case was highlighted in the Goanvoice today and hopefully this will bring new added pressure to the thinking of the Goan government behide the property scam with central government
I commend then for their galliant gestures to help others who have had/having many sleepness nights due to this fiasco.

yes full marks to anyone who will stand up and be counted!
is Sahara TV the same as Sahara One? - 'cos if so they only seem to do Hindi filmi stuff - no news or current affairs.
btw the newspaper reports seem to imply two 'Show Cause'es - is that correct, or just one? - and is it the same one that was discussed a few days ago?
(Still trying to find out if it's a one-off or the start of something big!)

Hi Just been told that the interview was aired went out to 63million ( still dont know on what channel) but the Central government/high commission in Delhi, British High commission and British government have knowledge of it now, and the phone lines have already started buzzing, lets pray some good comes out of it.

Good for them for doing the interview. I didn't get to see it but I hope and pray that it starts to stir the conscience of some and throws some vital light on this injustice we are all suffering

Will let you know as soon as I hear anything. the guys have been told to write a letter to the government/high comission in Delhi outlining what is happening here so it may be a good idea for us all to get writing once again while this subject is fresh in their minds. cant do any harm we spend enough time writing on here, will get the addresses and names they are sending their too.

Must admit, I had no idea that so many of the "regulars" on this forum were suffering from the "property nightmare".
I would be too if I hadn't been skint till comparatively recently, necessitating rental long term, i.e. Paying a monthly rent but for the whole year. Apart from the money thing, I also wanted the ability to move at short notice, like when I arrive and find a mega-Russian brothel next door on one side and Micky Pacheos latest villa on the other. The other reason is my preference for a "house with garden" which would have cost more than I was prepared to pay in any case. Yes, in 15 years I have paid a lot of rent, but at the crazy prices they expect these days, its still cheap!
The way Goa is going these days, the ability to move house or get the hell out would now be Number One reason, (also reasons 2 - 10 as well!)
My sympathies are with you all, I can only guess at how awful it must be........
Love and solidarity in these sh*tty times,
