Try Mandrem Beach too - just beyond Morjim and Ashwem Beaches - maybe another 100 Rupees taxi fare.

Make sure you negotiate with the taxi driver if you want a return fare the same day - they will wait for you.

I can usually get a day trip to Mandrem from Candolim for about Rupees 800.

Let me know if you want some taxi driver phone numbers (I can vouch for thier reliability as I've used them for the past 6 years.

Enjoy Goa!

Very Very Hot, Humidity OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Off to the pool 11.00 but not cold!.

Enjoy yourself, but make sure that you have a price from the taxi driver before you leave Candolim, or whereever, as they are desperate can also give you good driver if you pm me.

Good advice from everyone including not to accept the tours organised by either the hotel or tour operator..arrange your own and shop around for taxi fares as they are negotiable. Beaches to visit..Ashvem, Arambol, Tiracol in the north and Agonda, Palolem in the south..temples towards Ponda, Spice plantation, Day in Panjim..free music at La Kala Academy April 6th, Aguada Fort, local restaurants not the tourist places in Candolim and Calangute, market day in Mapusa Friday morning..Anjuna flea market ( winding down), Old Goa and the churches there..is that enough? have fun Chris

Two good little shacks still open in Baga if you want somewhere not too far from where you are staying:

Emmanuels - food here excellent and cheap, try their biryanis.
Shack by the Bay

Next door to each other and reached via a small road immediately before the La Calypso hotel front doors on Baga Road.
Both not too crowded and away from the water sports, also more set back on the beach.

Whatever you choose to do - enjoy

Dread - x

They are a 50 rupee taxi ride away or a 15 min walk along from Calangute to Baga.

I would walk along the beach and Bayview shack has a sign standing near the waters edge. You will be sure of a welcome. I envy you! Enjoy!
