purchased a laptop in Panjim in November. Since coming back to UK
updated Windows - only to find that the Windows XP on the computer
was counterfeit :curse: :curse: :curse: Well, should have known better than purchase out there.:curse: Now the computer needs TLC and genuine Windows XP softwear installed. Thought as it was under guarantee would take it back - only to notice on the receipt Softwear chargeable.:curse:

My friend brought a HP laptop 2 years ago and a printer, the laptop had corroded within 3 months and the printer just stopped working, she took it back after 1 month of getting repaired tried the laptop in the shop only to find loads of porno sites on it,she had photos of her kids on the laptop, she went to the police and they investigated and of course the times were on the hard drive,no pics had ben sent to the sites, thank goodness, engineer got fired, the laptop has once again expired and is now out of warrenty, so DONT PURCHASE A COMPUTER IN GOA!!!!

(the more honest ads say 'including dos') then the salesman asks you what software you want (Windows, Office, etc)
Why not get hold of a Ubuntu linux CD and load that instead?

Being a complete and utter techno phobic, I did the same thing, have to-day given it to somebody to sort out for me. Yes, mine is under guarantee, but in the guarantee in tiny words it says "soft wear not included" :curse::curse: Yes we did pay extra for it! I am not even going to go in and have a row with them in Panjim - live is stressful enough as it is.
I've learnt now to keep my money in my pocket.

If you get stuck I have the number of guy from Aldona, Chris Moniz, he is great, comes when he says he will come, sorts out your problems for a reasonable price and is honest, I know it's unusual these days but I would not let anyone else touch my computer. Has helped me back in UK over the phone or net for free.
