Ya don't mind if I do
and just as quiet in Far East forum actually. 1 member (me!) and 21 lurkers. I personally think it's just the way the world is at the moment. I occasionally lurk on another place and that is quiet too.
Here in Penang we get the "winter overers" as well. Best of both worlds if you can afford to do so. Quite a few of the expat retirees I know here split their time 50:50 more or less. Half the time in Penang and half the time in their "home" country.

'Allo - from me in New Zealand.
I'm bugger all to do with Goa or anything Goan but thought I'd pop by from an also quite quiet forum, if you get the drift.
May I have a RANT
I have a lovely pair of Pekin ducks. Boo and Woo ducks. Boo after a friends daughter and Woo after Deadwood's Chinaman.
I love my ducks
. Everyone that knows me, here on cyber BE or in the real world knows that.
Today, the wretched , rubbish noisy, lowlife next door neighbour's dog bounded over our boundary and went for both my ducks. Good job I was home and it was only when the quacks got frantic that I realised summat was up.
Found me lovely Boo duck with a dog at her neck. Dog then found my garden rake around his earholes.
Was the dog put off . No. It then went for my feisty Woo drake. This time I did Kung Foo rake wielding - sort of - and didn't care if I hit myself in the chops.
Dog bounded off through my house and then out to next doors paddock.
I am seriously not impressed. Not with the dog. With the owners. There again, they are a pile of rubbish anyway.
Boo duck is limping and I hope all will be well.

Shot by my neighbour in duck shooting season. Blummin' stringy looking things they are too.Next you'll be telling me you eat chicken. I'll have to get earmuffs for Rosie, Nellie and Tiggs Wyandotte hens.

I have seen on here but can't find now, people who have taken their pet out of India.I've noticed from Dec\Jan time the laws are easing a little which may save some costs, looking for advice on who companies that can help and procedure involved. This is a cat we brought out here and obviously want to take with us when we eventually go.

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"
The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:
"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.
Mermaids do not exist.
But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?
Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.
At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.
We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "

I have a had a big smile on my boat since yesterday morning and the reason is that Metal Micky Pacheco is in the slammer, well nearly, because as soon as he found out he was going he became very ill.He can threaten and beat up a harmless official from the electricity department but he cannot do his bird. But the best bit i have saved to last is that he will find it almost impossible to get a USA visa from now on to access his hidden assets.Mind you there will be few long term convicts who might be interested in Pachecos hidden assets when he gets to the jail ! Dont bend over for the soap Mickey in the showers....!
