Re: In To-day's Newspapers
This appears to be a fairly typical response from Babush and his henchmen for the alleged "outraging of modesty" of the 14 year German girl by Monseratte's son, 21 year old Rohit. I mean, what other options were open when the approach of Jennifer Monserrate and the police to the mother of the girl that they would "prefer" if she dropped the police complaint had failed?
Welcome to justice, Goa style. Congratulations to Mr Aires Rodrigues for taking a decent moral stance at great personal risk. Thankfully there is still someone in Goa prepared to stand up against the criminals who now have a stranglehold over this sordid little banana republic. http://www.navhindtimes.com/story.php?story=2008101429 "Activist lawyer, historian brutally attacked in city restaurant NT NETWORK Posted on 2008-10-14 PANAJI Mr Aires Rodrigues, a lawyer and social activist, and Mr Prajal Sakhardande, a teacher of history in a city college, were brutally assaulted by a group of 7-8 people at a city restaurant here this evening...... ........The attack comes in the wake of Mr Rodrigues role in espousing the case of a minor German girl whose mother, Ms Fadela Fuchs had filed a complaint with the Calangute police station alleging sexual assault on her daughter by Rohit Monserrate, elder son of the Education Minister, Mr Atanasio Monserrate...... .....Mr Rodrigues held a press conference at his home on Sunday along with Ms Fuchs alleging police inaction on her complaint since it was filed on October 2.......... ©Copyright 2007 Navhind Papers & Publications Nice start to the season, Goa:thumbup: Russian tourist drowns off Azvem beach, North Goa; Scottish/ Australian dies in bar room brawl, Calangute; Government Minister's son charged with "molestation" of German girl of minor age: lawyer representing her case is hospitalised following gang assault in Panjim restaurant: sand dunes are bulldozed illegally in Candolim, further destroying the delicate ecosystem and natural defences against coastal erosion. ...It beggars belief. I anticipate a 'morcha' by the bar asociation, a lot of hot air, and then Nothing! but if they re-elect the people responsible for this then the electorate certainly gets the government it deserves!!! AndyD 8-)# |

AndyD 8-)# I cant get i-player or other channel equivalents to work here in Goa (BSNL Broadband). On BBC I get an explanation that it is for copyright reasons and they all say UK reception only. Bit peed off as brought special device in Maplins to allow laptop to be viewed on 29" tv screen! |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Yes, no problem with radio or "clips", TV programmes not possible, try it. Bsnl BB not too bad in Siolim but lines only went in last year.
Even though we have an inverter, if power cut affects the exchange, bb goes! |
