In To-day's Newspapers

Even this guy who wrote this cr*p has suggested that our Government should take back the land that the Goans have purchased in the UK.What a laugh, there would be a human out cry that Britain was racist. This jerk who wrote this knows Britain is a soft touch.
Come to Britain free housing, free medical care, free social security and free education into the bargain. This is a joke There are 60,000 Goans living and working in Britain, there are maybe 3,000 Brits who have bought property in Goa The Brits live and let live not like the paranoid Goans.
They don't have to ban the sales of Land this would be to honest they sell it to the Brits knowing that they can't register it or sell it this way they are on to a winner all way.

The stupid writer is now bringing in the Welsh people who do not want people moving into their seaside villages. Whether you live in England Ireland Scotland or Wales, once you have made an offer on a property, you consult a solicitor, mortgage advisor/pay cash. Surveyors survey the property and look into the land side of the deal. When all is cleared legally, you pay your deposit, exchange contracts, and then pay the final payment WHEN EVERYTHING IS IN ORDER AND THE PROPERTY IS REGISTERED WITH THE LAND REGISTRY. This does not matter what colour or creed you are. or if you are from another planet. The property is then yours, and the UK Government cannot take the property away from you.:curse:

Well said Noni. There is a world of difference which the author in the newspaper seems to ignore or not understand.
Yes it may be true that some individual people in both our countries dislike the notion of any outsiders moving in to what they consider their homeland. That is what the article should say. But of course it tries to imply something more more than this.
However as you correctly pointed out, the difference between Goa and the Uk is that it is only the Goan government which is consistently reinterpreting the rules to suit its own purposes and threatening to confiscate property already bought and to ban land sales in future.
In the Uk this is not the case. The government is not doing this and would be very unlikely to do this. The author dislikes the fact that we are complaining. Just imagine for a second the situation if it were reversed. If the UK were to take this stance just think of all the complaining from the 60,000 Goans who have built their lives there.
My view is that the media here in Goa is not concerned with facts but sees its role as spreading anti foreigner propaganda at any opportunity. In a civlised country this would be seen as " racist" and " harassment" but sadly not here.

At least it is quite a big number!
You frequently read in the papers here that "nearly 4 people were killed" or "almost 7 were arrested"
J5
Understandable if its a group of enormous Russian women, as they tend to merge into one amorphous mass!

Worrying that the likes of Vaz is not just any old backbencher but the Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee. He is the one pushing for the need for Brtian to be multi cultural and diverse ( as per the Times today_). Pity he doesn't push for that in Goa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi - new to this but, as I seem to share this forums (and Boris's) feelings for the Right Horrible Gentleman I thought I would share this article.

Whilst Mr Vaz surely cannot be held to account for accepting a free upgrade - even if it did mean being separated from his children! - I can't help wondering whether the £48 Jet kindly charged me & others to "upgrade" from economy to economy went towards paying for his 5 course meal!
