Hi all in Goa
Please explain this Kamikaze need to own property in these outlandish ex colonial outposts/countries? All I hear from Thailand, and you guys/gals in Goa/India is all about the problems and rip off's one has to unfortunately confront continually. Does it not make more sense to long term rent,a very stressless choice? Thereby Leaving all your funds locked up and safe some where else civilised and untouchable. I realise there could be more to it than my simple suggestion, and that I may be missing something? I are aware in Malaysia and Indonesia, possibly Philippines one has to deposit a certain amount of funds in an approved account in the country you have selected, and after a few years you may buy property and obtain a residency. I are looking for a suitable location pour moi ,so are interested in all angles. Not criticizing, just enquiring! |

Re: Charter flights to Goa
I find it absolutely amazing, no matter what a thread is posted about it is almost immediately hijacked by those complaining about matters that are in no way related to the threads subject! Yes I do feel desperately sorry for people that have a lot of money tied up in property they can do little with but it happens; the decline in house prices in the UK has left countless people in negative equity, the economic downturn in Europe has devastated property prices there, I holiday in Spain in the summer months and my property there is probably now only worth a third of what it was worth and I'm sure there are many people that could tell similar tales about there properties in France, Portugal etc. It happens nobody likes it but it happens. However to let become the focus of your life is not only counter productive, it just isn't healthy! The same is true of the visa situation, yes it must be very tiresome, expensive and extremely inconvenient, however the fact is that it is not going to change any time soon, get over it and deal wih it!
All this whinging will get nothing achieved and just cause upset and stress to the whingers and give tremendous satisfaction to the holier than thou officials that no doubt take great pleasure in imposing this legislation. There must be one honest official or solicitor in India ( I wonder how long it will be before someone tells me no) lets find him/her and then everybody with a property problem and from what I can make out thats everyone with property, act collectively; all contribute 100 pounds and with the thousands of ex-pats with property problems that would be one hell of a fighting fund! Fortuitously I took the advice from people in this forum and didn't buy a property in Goa, as much as I would like to, however if one of the members of the forum wants to organise collective representation to attempt to get these injustices righted I will happily chip in the first hundred pounds. |
