Hi,
My name is Soni. I’ve got a small Amazon business supplying Amazon France and Germany with CD’s. I’ve just found out I need to be VAT registered for France and Germany.
I wonder if anyone knows someone who can set me up cheaply for VAT in France and Germany (can be 2 separate local ones, no problem)
It’s a very small business, only talking about £4-5000 pounds worth of sales. All by mail order from the UK.
I’ve been quoted a ridiculously high price by a British firm - £1,000 per country! Grrrrrrr
I’m able to do returns myself, its just the initial registration I’m finding hard.
Any help will be great fully received and will give a rave review in this forum for anyone who can help me!

Are you sure about needing to be VAT registered? I operate an Austrian Company and like the UK VAT registration is based on T/O

Yes, amazon have told me numerous times and I've done the rounds with them. It states so on their website too. Amazon.de and Amazon.fr

Presuming you are resident and trading from the UK then this is relevent
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/managing/...orts/goods.htm
however, you may be coming up with this problem with the Amazon companies if your turnover isn't enough to require mandatory registration for the UK VAT system.
so you may have to bite the bullet on that one, register and fill in your forms as stated in the above document.
any further problems discuss with your locat HMRC/VAT office.
just remember that Amazon is one of those companies the red tops are telling us are not paying their way with regard to taxation.

If you're sending goods to someone who is genuinely registered for VAT in the destination EU country, you can zero-rate the supply for VAT purposes, provided you meet all the conditions below........
