Have you been abroad when your families or friends had an important milestone like 18th birthdays or got engaged ?

I never really thought about it till my best mate from school told me he is getting engaged. I really wanted to go out with him for a beer but I am stuck with my work out here in Germany for another three months.

I found this Buddy Beers which is quite big in Germany it doesn't seem so big in the UK. Can anyone suggest anything similar to send him a beer in the UK from Germany ?/
