Default Help

I have finally got my gap year sorted I am going to be an au-pair in Stuttgart and I am really looking forward to it and I go at the end of September, but I don't know anybody in Stuttgart. I am 18 and I was wondering does anybody have any tips or advice on what I could to meet people around my own age or make some friends over there, because I am quite nervous and can be a bit shy sometimes

Cheers!

Taking classes maybe. My friend from the US took German classes and met quite a few people there. Look for classes that prepare for the university German entry exam. You will meet young people there. They will all be expats and looking for friends. To meet Germans might be more difficult. Maybe join a sports club (Verein) if you are interested in it. You could also offer language exchange: English - German.
