NI LEL. If earnings exceed NI LEL (even by just £1), you get one qualifying pension year. Figures change every tax year, for next tax year that will be £6396.
When I was at uni I must have exceeded the qualifying threshold every year despite only working for 12-14 weeks during the summer, and my earnings at the time were consistent with the inflation adjusted figure for 2023-24 being £6,396
