We have bought land in Brittany and want to build a wooden house. We are planning to move to France next year. Does anyone know of any manufacturers of wooden houses that would build or deliver to Brittany?

there is one being built a few doors from me i'll go and be nosy walking dog 'as you do'
in fact i see the log cabin type, they always look so out of place, but there is another i seen quite a few of that its hard to tell they are wood. Told the wood houses are better insulated than concrete block houses, plus faster to put up. However some maries don't like them, and will refuse planning as they are considered non temporary (here anyway, but see change of mind from house being built) please ensure the land you buy holds no restrictions on wooden houses.
I'll try and find some links of constructors

edit: there is a place in Wellingborough Northants that ship pre-fab houses (mainly to spain) but I used to see at least 4 day on the A45 they'd send them in two parts and lock them together onsite and then fit them out. Cost about 50k€ but I am sorry no idea the comapny name

You have been very helpful. We are now looking at the sites you gave. We think, as you suggest, that we will have to go and check with the mairie to make sure that wood will be acceptable. We are really looking for a house that looks pretty conventional - not a log cabin. We found a manufacturer in the Dordogne www.bouny-chalets.com but, sadly, they do not build in Brittany.
