What is the Sorbonne like?

What is the Sorbonne like?
My daughter will be going to France next year to study at a university as part of her degree. I realise French universities are very different from British ones. What can she expect at the Sorbonne IV or Montpelier or Lyon or Dijon where she would be taking Arts et Lettres courses. Any info about life in France for a student would be useful.

My daughters both went to Montpellier, but neither did Arts et Lettres, so can't really help, except to say that MTP is a pleasant town to live in!
I think the Sorbonne is an elite Uni, so if your daughter has the possibility of studying there, then Paris is for her, for the prestige of having la Sorbonne on her C.V.!
