What chicken
Can anyone tell me the best breeds of chickens over here? I am a bit knowledgable on British breeds, but realise that they wont necessarily be available over here. I really want sensible hybrids with a long laying season. However my chickens wont be ending up as chicken chasseur so their meat quality isn't an issue.

to be honest, when we got ours (got for eggs not meat), we went to our local market and got from there. Most small towns and villages have a weekly market selling livestock, and the locals will probably be the best people to advise of the best breed for your area
