Just wanted to say my Carte Vitale finally arrived yesterday, a whole 7 months since we handed the old one in. See, the system works....eventually!

You're welcome Jazzy. I was amazed by how quickly my birth certificate came - I had it after 2 days, shipped from Norwich to Paris, and paid no extra on the standard UK postage.

L'Acajou - 7 months!! Well I'm glad to hear it arrived - one less thing to worry about. I know the pace of life is more relaxed here (well, not so much in Paris I fear), but 7 months is a long wait. I'm hoping once I've got the PACS I can get on my girlfriend's private health care, as I've found out they reimburse 100% of the cost of contact lenses. It would actually work out cheaper for me to pay for the monthly insurance, than to pay the monthly cost for lenses. It seems France does have some perks.
