Timing
Somewhat confused today as post had letter from our house insurers. It was requesting renewal premium for 1 May for 12 months. Amount not the issue, but letter dated 27 April, postmark 11 May/La Roche sur Yon. Where has it been I wonder and what cover would we have had or not. This was first and only correspondence, so not a reminder et al.

Re: Timing
Do you have the payment on "prelevement automatic"?
I would normally expect a renewal notice about a month before the due date.
If you have not given prior notice of cancellation - as is required in France - then you are obliged to pay and therefore you should still be covered & they just want their money.

Sorry, I've quoted the wrong post!

Re: Timing
Gets a tad weirder, the third of the letter, which I recall would be the TIP was missing, not attached and, no we don't have a prelevement in place. Apologies, SOH opened letter and I have just taken a look. Will send cheque, but may call Agence to get better understanding.

Re: Timing
Insurance policies in France dont ever just lapse. Unless you cancel them folllowing the correct procédure they remain in force. And sooner or later you will br chased for the money.
