Ok, here goes.

I want to be able to surf the internet whilst on holidaying in France.

We have a place in France but it does not have a telephone.

I want something that i can use when i am there alone. ie not tied into a massive annual contract

Can anyone give any suggestions. I have a mobile with O2 but looking at the mobile internet charges it looks like it may be expensive.

Any suggestions...is there any pay as you go mobile services with usb connections in france that can offer me a cheapish solution.

If your phone is unlocked you could just get a Orange Pay or alternative supplier as you go card when you get here, Do you live somewhere with 3G coverage because you can get Pay as you Go 3G sim cards you will have to take something with you French address on it and ID to get a sim card.

Im not sure if i am unlocked will need to check with another sim. Im also not sure if in a 3G area. I presumed i am because i have briefly accessed the internet via my phone when we have been there previously...

However, if i wanted to use my laptop...would i not need a dongle/usb connection ??
