Question Teaching

Hi,

I'm after some advice.

I live in London at the moment and am planning to move to France in the next 5 (ish) years with my boyfriend who did his degree in French and lived in Montpellier for a year. I am starting French classes at the Alliance soon to get me up to scratch. I'm a qualified secondary school teacher (English) teaching at the moment and ideally I'd like a job in France in a school (rather than teaching TEFL). Is it true that teachers qualified abroad can't work in the French state school system? Also does anyone know about the general availability of jobs in International schools? Any advice about what I can do in the next few years to better my chances of getting a job once we move would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I've heard this from a friend who's French (teacher) and qualified in the UK. However, you may be able to work in private insitutions (which may also pay better). You could possibly find out from this http://www.education.gouv.fr/index.php
