To say it caused "a stink" would be putting it mildly. That's my total encounter with animal poo for over a year, save for something which does long sausages of black stuff with nuts or seeds sprinkled liberally through it, which we can't identify and seems to be all over the place this year.

Right, Roger has gone at long last, great home, we are pleased and having a lie-in for the first time in over a week, and I'm relieved we won't have him over the winter and that he went last Friday just in time for the whole weekend of rain we had.

All's quiet again on the Brittany front - but watch this space - it won't last ........

Andy,
Have you tried the 'fumier du cheval' on your rhubarb? It certainly beats custard.......:sneaky::eek:

Lord, manure on rhubarb, great idea, no more luggage space taken up with tins of birds custard powder ......

So that could be hedgehogs? Crikey, they must be gargantuan ones, I tell you what, next time I find it, I'll take a picture and put it on here. Might seal my weird reputation forever, buy hey ho ..........:D

While the average hedgehog weighs in at about 600g, I reckon you have one of these Hedgie-Kong 2kg monster jobs at large in your garden. :D

Hi Andy,

Rather than giant hedgehogs, do you think you have coypu? Not a medical ailment, a big rat-type creature, lives close to water, is vegetarian, hence the seeds in the droppings. We have plenty round here, they undermine the river banks and have caused one of our cows to get stuck in the mud... another cow-related story... the police volunteered their helicopter to pull it out, luckily we un-stuck it using a tractor. Think the police fancied a fun rescue mission :D. Anyway, I have seen droppings like that, at first I though fox, but then found loads under my fruit trees and am sure it is coypu, or ragondin.

Aha, saw Autumnwatch again this Thursday, great programme, and as a slightly deranged woman in her early fifties who has "the hots" for Chris Packham, I am sending him a present as he is their resident poo expert. God knows what Customs will make of it, but at least if we have coypoos (is they giant cat-type things?) we'll know about it, as Chris (swoon) can identify 158 types of poo at fifty paces - what a man, now THAT'S class for yer ..........
