self build

We have recently bought some land in the South West region of France, we are waiting for planning to be agreed. We have submitted our own plans as under 170m2, but we were wondering if anyone who has been down this road before knows how long the whole process takes before we can start construction.
Any information would be of great help
Many Thanks :fingerscrossed:

It depends on the efficiency of the Marie and the DDE in your area I have known it to take two years and as little as 3 months.

My parent-in-laws had some land near Tours, and I it took them around 6 months for planning permission, and more than a year to construct and finish the place (300m2) - in fact it was closer to two years. Probably didn't help that the father-in-law designed it all himself with no prior knowledge of architecture, though to his credit he was quite thorough and oversaw it all.

Hi,
Our planning permission took three months and that was including a christmas/new year break. We are at Auros, in the Gironde. Our build took about seven months.
